About Kathleen...
Kathleen
grew up in a farm & ranch environment where she had access to practical animal
husbandry on a daily basis as well as the opportunity of owning her own horse.
She began formal instruction as an 8 yr. old, from a past Ohio State University
Equine instructor. She competed in her elementary years in Saddle Seat
Equitation, Western Equitation, Western & English Pleasure, Showmanship, &
Trail.
In
her junior high & high school years, she had the opportunity to ride & train
multiple horses & work cattle on her family’s extensive beef cattle operation.
She also enjoyed competing at high school rodeos in barrel racing & pole
bending.
Kathleen worked
her way through college while “cowboying” at a large ranch. This experience
entailed starting & training multiple young horses and developing them into
finished, reliable ranch mounts while riding tens of thousands of acres caring
for range cattle.
After college and while raising her family, Kathleen started her own successful horse breeding, boarding & training facility. Through her years there she had the opportunity to work or clinic with, a multitude of outstanding equine professionals. Such legends and notables as, Doug Millholland, Benny Guitron, Steve Schwartzenberger, Smoky Pritchett, Tim McQuay, Al Dunning, Craig Johnson, Terry Wegener, Drake Johnson, Tim Unzicker, Darren Miller, & more. She began competing in AQHA, NRHA, & NRCHA at that time. She currently holds her judges card with NRCHA.

Once her children were raised, Kathleen took steps to wholeheartedly pursue the training business. She and her husband currently own a training facility which they designed and developed. The following, in her own words, is a synopsis of Kathleen’s training philosophy:
“Through years of experience, education, and an inborn LOVE of horses, I have developed a training program that strives to maximize an individual horse’s performance potential. I customize and modulate different methods to fit the individual, thereby developing a unique combination of training techniques based on the individual; rather than forcing the horse to fit a prescribed formula. I won’t brutalize a horse into doing something he wasn’t made to do.”
